For slum communities
Munna lives in the slums of Bangladesh, her family and community members were often sick from drinking and using the water, but they had no other option. The water that they were using was contaminated with arsenic, a common problem in Bangladesh.
Practical Action work with slum communities like Munna’s to help them to access cleaner and safer water. Her community now know how to test the water by putting guava leaves into it, if there is arsenic present then the leaves turn the water black.
Thanks to you, Munna and her community can look forward to a healthier future. This is just one of the ways that Practical Action supports slum communities, our projects work with people to help them to access sanitation facilities, waste removal and support them to earn an income to support their families and transform their lives.
