Practical Action in Asia

Our greatest focus in Asia is in helping to make cities fit for people, with safe water for drinking and washing and refuse and sewage safely and sustainably managed. We also have sizeable programs to improve people’s resilience to climate and natural hazards and helping farming families succeed in the face of climate change.

In Bangladesh, we focus on enhancing living conditions for impoverished populations by combining technical knowledge with on-the-ground experience to improve energy access, clean cooking solutions, sustainable farming, water and sanitation, and waste management, with an emphasis on gender equity and climate resilience.

In India, we work with people to achieve healthier, more productive lives by improving hygiene and ensuring access to essential services like fresh water, waste disposal, and electricity.

Our work in Nepal enhances climate resilience, agriculture, energy access, and entrepreneurship by integrating technical expertise with local knowledge. We prioritise community input in project design and partner with the private sector, government institutions, civil society, and community groups to ensure lasting positive impacts.
