Practical Action will attend two key events in Africa this September. We will promote the power of collaboration to tackle the global crises of climate and poverty.

The United Nations Resident Coordinator in Rwanda, His Excellency Dr Ozonnia Ojielo paid a visit to Practical Action’s office in Kigali. Dr Ozonnia was warmly received by the organisation’s global leadership team, including CEO Sarah Roberts, as well as the Rwanda office team, communications and business development staff from our international and Africa country offices.

Practical Action launched a new phase of the Renewable Energy for Refugees project with an exciting event at Rwanda’s largest refugee camp. Members of the refugee community joined with the Swedish Ambassador, Johanna Teague, The Rwandan Minister for emergency management Ms. Solange Kayisire and UNHCR staff.

Thousands of refugees are set to work with Practical Action as it expands its energy work in camps and host communities in Rwanda over the next four years.

Refugees and local farmers are joining forces to reduce hunger, earn a better living and stand up to climate change, through regenerative agriculture and renewable energy.
