Practical Action Publishing wins first ever Small Press of the Year Award

Practical Action Publishing has been crowned the Midlands regional winner of the first ever British Book Awards: Small Press of the Year Award at the

London Book Fair at Olympia, now in its 48th year.

The British Book Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the best books, bookshops and publishers in the UK and is regarded as the BAFTAs of the book world.

Stacey Davies, Managing Director of Practical Action Publishing said: “We would like to thank our valued authors and partners. Through working together, we are able to give more and more people access to fresh answers and practical resources that can tackle the causes of poverty and disadvantage.

“We believe that if we share the planet, we should also share the answers! This award is a celebration of how small and independent publishers can have a huge global impact”.

Philip Jones, editor of The Bookseller and chair of the judges for the British Book Awards, added: “The award has showcased the range of brilliant publishing across the regions of England, and countries of Wales, Scotland and Ireland.”
