Listening to Missing Voices to Improve Early Warning Systems in Thiès, Senegal

Abstract

This report shares findings and recommendations of the Missing Voices Approach applied in Thiès, Senegal, as part of the ResAlert project under the WISER programme. The method provided insights on how marginalised groups experience flood risks and their needs for Early Warning Systems to reduce the impacts of flooding. It identifies major gaps in accessibility, inclusiveness, and communication and recommends co-produced, people-centred Early Warning Systems, improved infrastructure, greater community participation, and further research on vulnerability.
