Abstract
This paper aims to identify how Practical Action can add value to the emerging field of forecast-based early action (FBEA). The paper synthesises current knowledge about the evidence supporting FBEA, effective practices, conditions, and limitations; maps out the FBEA landscape; and draws links between gaps in current FBEA practice and Practical Action’s experience and expertise. The purpose of the paper is to set out a shared organisational vision for FBEA and how we can take this approach forward in our programming.
