Abstract
A heatwave in Bangladesh in 2024 significantly increased heat-related illnesses while placing immense pressure on an already overstretched healthcare system. A post-event study conducted by Practical Action in 2025 highlighted how existing socio-economic inequalities, a weak healthcare system, and inadequate institutional preparedness left marginalized groups in Khulna disproportionately exposed to the impacts of extreme heat.
