Abstract
A heatwave in Bangladesh in 2024 significantly impacted the lives and livelihoods of people living in the coastal district of Khulna. A post-event study conducted by Practical Action in 2025 highlighted how the impacts of extreme heat were shaped by existing social and cultural norms and economic inequalities that influence people’s exposure to, capacity to cope with, and ability to recover from heatwaves.
