Climate change

Practical Action works with other organisations around the world to change institutional policy and practice, and the lives of those most vulnerable to a changing climate.

Germanwatch
Germanwatch is a north-south initiative and has been one of the leading German NGOs in the German climate debate for 15 years. Present at all UNFCCC negotiations in Bonn it has a long established relationship with the UNFCCC secretariat (Bonn).

Climate Action Network (CAN) Europe
CAN-Europe is a Brussels-based environmental NGO focused on climate change. Established in 1989, CAN-Europe acts as a coordination office for environmental groups working on climate change issues. At present, CAN-Europe counts 100 members throughout the EU 25 plus Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.

Glopolis
The Prague Global Policy Institute - Glopolis - is a Czech non-partisan non-governmental organisation that deals with the analysis of economic globalization, trade and development, including the impact of climate change on the developing world.

Germanwatch, CAN-Europe and Glopolis are Practical Action's partners in the EU-funded Climate change and poverty reduction public awareness project.

Stop Climate Chaos
We are proud to be a member of the 'Stop Climate Chaos' campaigning coalition in the UK. The network aims to build pressure for political action to stop climate change, and calls for the government to cut the UK's global warming gas emissions and to make tackling climate change a key part of its plans to deal with global poverty

Up in Smoke: the impact of climate change on development

Practical Action is a member of the Working Group on Climate Change and Development, who together have published the Up in Smoke series of reports, which reveal the untold story of the impact that extreme weather, exacerbated by climate change, is having on poor communities around the world.
