Reporting to the Regional Director, the Thematic Lead will play a leadership role within the Regional Management Team (RMT) being accountable for providing innovative and impactful thought leadership in Nepal, India and South Asia region.  S/he will articulate Practical Action’s change ambitions in Nepal and India building and nurturing strategic relationships including the government, private sector and donors in support of these change ambitions. S/he will provide effective thought leadership and technical inputs into the design and delivery of technical assistance and on-the-ground projects and will take lead in knowledge generation and advocacy. S/he will support the overall effective and efficient management of the region. S/he is also a key member of the Global DRR Change Ambition Hub, contributing to global leadership on Practical Action’s DRR goal area, supporting the global agenda on evidence and learning, and ensuring synergy between our national and global work.

The minimum qualifications required is a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, Development Studies, International Development and/or any related discipline with at least ten years of working experience, at least half of that in management positions and thematic area, preferably gained in Nepal, India and/or South Asia.
