SWASHTHA Building Healthy Communities

Abstract

This publication documents the LESSONS LEARNED from the SWASHTHA project implemented in Nepal between 2009-2012 in the Municipalities of Bharatpur, Butwal, Gulariya and Tikapur. The project aimed to create a fully healthy environment, combining 5 aspects: achievement of Open Defecation Free (ODF) status in sanitation, safe water, better hygiene, waste management, and kitchen management (including reducing indoor air pollution). This document contains case 10 case studies of individuals talking about the benefits of different aspects of the project.
