For communities affected by climate change
Climate change is increasingly affecting people across the world and it’s often the people who are living in poverty that suffer the most. Saiful from Bangladesh knows what it’s like to be forced to live in flood prone areas but since he has learnt about sandbar cropping, he is now able to grow pumpkins on the sandbars - which is barren land - through digging small pits and lining them with compost. Pumpkins thrive in these conditions and Saiful can now provide nutritious food for his family and can sell the remaining crops to earn a stable income.
With your support, we’re able to work with communities like Saiful’s, to make them more resilient to the effects of climate change. We also introduce clean and sustainable energy solutions to women, men and children meaning that we are able to lift people out of poverty without damaging the environment.
