Seil Gadim Dam opened in Darfur
Last week, the Seil Gadim Dam was officially inaugurated amidst the participation of Deputy of North Darfur Wally, Minster of Agriculture, Minister of Culture and Information, Director of the United Nations Environment Programme(UNEP), Practical Action, the technical committee of the project and the project beneficiaries from villages.
The 775 metres long dam with four gates to drain water, along with the scientific methods of water harvesting techniques, is expected to help maximise the water resources and benefit the locals in the Wadi Elku project area.

Likewise, Practical Action distributed seeds through the partner VRND, covering 10 community based organisations around Wadi Elku area last week. This will act as a revolving fund to sustain the interventions to help the poor farmers in the target communities to catch up with the agricultural season.
The Wadi Elku Catchment Management Project has completed seedlings transplantation in different areas surrounding 10 kilometres in North Darfur, Sudan.Read more
