TEAM PURPOSE: Helping communities to improve their livelihoods through food security and income generation projects while mainstreaming gender, environment and sustainability initiatives.

JOB PURPOSE: Management of Sustainable Agriculture projects (approximate budget of $2.4m) in Matabeleland South, focusing on increasing food security for poor vulnerable households (solar powered irrigation systems, market system development and increased resilience to climate change) in Gwanda District.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Degree in Agriculture, Development Studies, Economics or any related field;
  • Key technical skills in Agronomy, Participatory Markets System Development, value chain development and market linkages;
  • High level of numeracy, budgeting, financial reporting, review and analysis and IT skills;
  • Experience in proposal and report writing, good communication skills (written and verbal),  proven management experience with evidence of effective decision making, people management, and a critical focus on the delivery of agreed results within time;
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.

Relevant Job Experience
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management, with 2 years working with communities and diverse teams;
