Join our team to help in the promotion of renewable clean energy access and sustainable use among poor rural communities.

Candidates should have a relevant degree focusing on rural development, energy engineering or any other energy related field, a qualification in project management with minimum of 4 years relevant practical experience.  The incumbent will work with project partners and project stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the SE4RC project and timely reporting, overall implementation and coordination of project activities, initiation of new interventions and supervision of staff on the ground to meet the expectations of target communities, partners, donors, Practical Action and all other key stakeholders.  Key deliverables include provision of day-to-day management, planning, monitoring and evaluation, coordination of project activities as per agreed project work plan and time schedule, reporting on project progress and challenges and proposed solutions with timely compilation and submission of quality, monthly, quarterly, annual and donor reports.

TEAM PURPOSE:
Promotion of renewable clean energy access and sustainable use among poor rural communities.

JOB PURPOSE:
To work with the project partners and project stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the SE4RC project and timely reporting. Overall implementation and coordination of project activities, initiation of new interventions and supervision of staff on the ground to meet the expectations of target communities, partners, donors, Practical Action and all other key stakeholders.

Key Deliverables

• Provide the day-to-day management, planning, monitoring and evaluation, and coordination of project activities as per agreed project work plan and time schedule
• Report on project progress, challenges and proposed solutions and timely compilation and submission of quality, monthly, quarterly, annual and donor reports
• Identify capacity gaps of partners and facilitate their corresponding capacity development.
• Guide project partners on compliance issues in close liaison with the Energy Access Leader and the Finance team.
• Ensure smooth coordination and communication among project staff, stakeholders and partners
• Ensure all project information is documented, including engineering diagrams, layouts, baseline information, beneficiaries and feasibility studies, evaluations, lesson-learning and progress reports etc..
• Manage site assessments/ environmental studies.
• Develop and manage budgets and authorizing expenditure according to budgets (Quarterly or half yearly) taking due care to ensure that expenditure is in accordance with plan and in line with Practical Action policies and procedures.
• Ensure timely submission of quality project acquittals by partners.
• Adhere to project specifications/fund requirements and reporting so that donor and beneficiary expectations are met
• Ensure timely initiation of project procurement through timely and accurate BOQs and quality checks in collaboration with the procurement committee and project partners.
• Manage external consultants, monitor performance, review outputs and recommend and carry out corrective action when needed.
• Contributes to the improvement of organisational working methods by cooperating with teams across the organisation, sharing experiences and promoting best practices.
• Manage and follow up on project and technical enquiries to ensure successful completion.
• Engage in public relations and networking to identify synergies and strengthen existing partnerships.
• Undertakes monitoring and evaluation activities in collaboration with the M,E and L team and performance of partners against agreed performance targets to ensure project progress as envisaged
• Compiles and submits quality progress and result based reports for submission to donors so that they are kept informed of developments on projects they are funding.
