• Candidates should have a Degree in Finance or an equivalent professional accounting part qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), at least 4 years’ experience working effectively in different cultures, preferably gained in an International Development Organisation, sound knowledge in using SUN systems and vision excel / Q&A and relevant financial management experience.

• The purpose of the role is to support Regional and Country Offices (RCOs) with the basic use of finance systems, operationalizing group core finance processes, book keeping, equipping RCOs to meet donor requirements, supporting the effective application of financial controls and delivering capacity building in designated areas. The role is an integral part of the risk and assurance framework for finance and is expected to contribute to reporting and finding solutions to areas of financial risk and assurance.

TEAM PURPOSE: 
To provide a mainstream professional and business focussed finance management service, with proactive solutions based approach, ensuring that all operational business requirements are effectively managed to deliver expected organisational results, which are focussed on developing capacity and expertise in key stakeholders.

JOB PURPOSE:
Supporting Regional and Country Offices (RCOs) with the basic use of finance systems, operationalizing group core finance processes, book keeping, equipping RCOs to meet donor requirements, supporting the effective application of financial controls and delivering capacity building in designated areas. The role is an integral part of the risk and assurance framework for finance and is expected to contribute to reporting and finding solutions to areas of financial risk and assurance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Support RCOs
• To use SUN accounting and Q&A reporting software including setting up new codes, budget/expenditure uploads and basic trouble shooting
• To operationalize agreed organizational financial processes changes.
• To monitor and confirm that organizational financial policies are adhered to.
• To perform an initial review of monthly accounts before submission to the local SMT and UK
• To maintain quarterly updates on the implementation of internal and external audit recommendations.
• To maintain an up to date schedule confirming that standard finance control checks on partner organizations are being carried out and that follow up actions required by the country office are actioned.

The post holder will also
• Maintain an overview of contracts managed by the RCOs and help them to use the organizational financial systems, procedures and routines to meet donor financial reporting requirements;
• Review delegated donor budgets and financial reports;
• Liaise with RCOs and UK finance teams during the year end process;
• Provide additional ad-hoc financial analysis and reports to line manager and key stakeholders to enable monitoring of RCO delivery performance and decision making.
• To advise the International Finance Manager of any suspected errors or financial control weaknesses discovered in the review of RCO accounts.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships across the global finance function to ensure an integrated approach, mutual learning and effective use of resources.
• To perform any additional tasks as requested by the Line Manager
