South East London Local Group

We are the only Practical Action supporters group in London. We have about 70 members, the majority drawn from an area roughly bordered by the M3, the M25 and the Thames. We meet approximately three or four times a year to hear talks on topics related to sustainable development and we also hold fundraising events. These range from stalls at local fairs to barbecues, social evenings, coffee mornings and classical music concerts.

Our usual meeting place is in Forest Hill, SE23, but we also hold events in other areas of SE London. We can supply speakers in the London area to talk about Practical Action’s work.

Were You There?

Our annual concert on 15 October 2016 in North Dulwich was a great success, raising over £1000 profit for Practical Action and giving us the great pleasure of enjoying a musical evening with the brilliant Jacquin Trio. Three stunningly talented young women took us on a journey from Mozart to the modern American composer Libby Larsen. Behind them, Practical Action was on show in huge posters and the beautiful 50th Anniversary quilt, lent to us for the occasion by the charity’s head office. Watch out for advance notice of this year’s concert!
