Monitoring and Evaluation Adviser - Renewable Energy for Refugees (RE4R)

Sorry, this Job has expired

Practical Action is an international non-governmental organisation (INGO) with 50 years of expertise in Africa, Asia and Latin America. We have a strong heritage and track record of bringing communities and experts together to find practical, sustainable solutions which work for both people and the planet; solutions that enable people to meet their needs and lead dignified lives. Technology features in everything we do. We partner with people whose lives are transformed by these efforts and ensure local ownership and solutions that work in the longer term, without us.

As part of a three and a half year Renewable Energy for Refugees (RE4R) project in Rwanda and Jordan, Practical Action is looking for a Monitoring and Evaluation Adviser to lead M&E activity for the project. The RE4R project will provide access to affordable and sustainable sources of renewable energy, and improve the health, wellbeing and security of target populations. It will draw on Practical Action’s considerable existing experience in renewable energy programmes in developing countries – working directly with communities to deliver the best energy services and products possible for local people.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate they have:

  • professional experience in international development

  • a strong understanding and experience of monitoring and evaluation in development programming, both in terms of how to measure outcomes and impact and how to monitor outputs and ensure accountability

  • experience of developing indicators for climate change impacts of programming and measuring CO2 and emissions data

  • familiarity with data collection and research processes and the ability to synthesize data, present results and draw meaningful conclusion

  • the ability to contribute to a team that is diverse in cultural contexts, geographies, and language and to foster a sense of common purpose and understanding
