Three short (3'30'') films showing the impact of climate change on vulnerable communities in south Asia, and some potential solutions.
Bangladesh
In central Bangladesh, the main threat is increased levels of flooding from monsoon-swollen rivers, extending the period when cropland is under water.
Pakistan
The Thal desert area of the Punjab is vulnerable to climate change. Major irrigation schemes based on the Indus river have led to an expansion of wheat growing, which is proving hard to sustain.
Nepal
In the Terai region of Nepal, flooding during the monsoons threatens the river communities. Higher intensity of rainfall on steep slopes leads to an increased risk of landslides and soil erosion.
