Micro-hydro in Peru
A decade ago, the region of Piura had no electricity. But ten years on, villages are back in business thanks to Practical Action using alternative technology as a mechanism for rural development. Harnessing water from the local rivers using Practical Action designed micro hydro systems provides power for the area, 24 hours a day.
