Silanga sanitation project - Kibera, Kenya
Over 1 millions people live in Kibera, one of the largest and most desperate informal settlement areas in the world. A lack of access to clean water and adequate sanitation poses huge health hazards.
This video shows Practical Action's work in Silanga, one of 13 villages in Kibera, building public toilets and sanitation for schools. It demonstrates the problems of waste and health in the Kibera slums, and the dramatic impact that simple solutions like this can have.
