Sandbar cropping in Bangladesh - Mozahar Ali
A short film demonstrating agricultural techniques to cope with flooding the river-eroded regions of Bangladesh.
The 'char' - the silted sand plains that floods leave behind - are too infertile to farm normally. But by simply digging holes in these sandy residues and filling them with manure, compost and pumpkin seeds, crops have thrived.
Mozahar Ali describes the impact that sandbar cropping has had on his family and livelihood.
