Practical Action's Technical Enquiry Service supplies, free of charge, technical and developmental information to our target group which includes grassroots development workers, community-based organisations, NGOs and other agencies using appropriate technologies to implement sustainable development.

Engineers Without Borders international database
This site is intended to network Engineers, Engineering Organizations, and Humanitarian Organizations available for humanitarian projects (including Tsunami Relief in Asia) with aid workers, public officials, and communities seeking assistance.

UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) India in New Delhi have decided to do an India imprint of Gender Dimensions in Disaster Management , which was first published in 2003. This is a joint publication of ITDGPractical Action South Asia, UNDP and Zubaan Publisher, India.

Tsunami Recovery Network – website for the exchange of information and to promote the essential requirements for reconstruction and development in the areas affected by the tsunami disaster. It is organised, maintained and supported by an international Network of universities, consultants, NGOs, media and professional associations with experience in the development of human settlements and the built environment.

Providing shelter to communities affected by the Tsunami involves considering many aspects.This information will be useful to organisations involved in relief and rehabilitation in South Asia.

ITDGPractical Action's technical briefs – introductory factsheets and basic practical information – have been written in response to the demand for information on a broad range of appropriate technologies.

    The Department for International Development has sponsored a network of centres that manage information resources for development. The ITDGPractical Action Technical Enquiry Service and resource centres are part of the DFID network.
