Strategic Planning in ITDG

At an organisational level ITDGPractical Action applies a strategic business planning process that is still in its formative years but under active review and improvement. The leading core of the planning system is the Group Strategy that sets a framework for our other levels of planning and outlines the overall direction and broad objectives of the Group over a five year period.

The organisational planning cycle is continuous and endeavours to utilise the knowledge from internal and external activities to define suitable ways forward at regional, country, programme and project level.

The Group utilises a quarterly monitoring system to provide each operational area (Countries, Regions and UK office areas) to discuss aspects of their activities, current context of work, external conditions and progress against objectives. These opportunities are important for staff to convey and share their work. They also provide the international management team with suitable information for decision making in pursuit of our Group Objectives.
