Practical Action Publishing activities

The dissemination of information where it is needed most and has the potential to support and consolidate development initiatives, resulting in a greater impact on the lives of the world's poorest people. Practical Action Publishing's own publishing programme seeks to achieve this and is one of the most important of all our activities.

Books

Practical Action Publishing produce around 20 new titles each year covering development fields as diverse as water and gender issues, agriculture and health, and including analytical texts, practical books, hands on manuals and reference works.

Practical Action Publishing's journals provide important information-sharing forums in two major development areas, published on a quarterly, subscription basis.

Enterprise Development & Microfinance

Enterprise Development & Microfinance (EDM) provides a forum for those involved in designing and running small enterprise development and microfinance programmes in developing countries.EDM is essential reading for managers of projects, providers of technical assistance, consultants to projects and staff of donor agencies.

Waterlines

Waterlines is the world's only magazine devoted entirely to low-cost water and sanitation. It is written for professionals - administrators or engineers, project managers or policymakers, trainers or workers in the field.

Food Chain

Food Chain is an international journal for all those involved in developing the supply of high-quality foods from ‘farm gate to plate’ and those who use food processing to alleviate poverty and hunger. By bridging the gap between research and practice, we encourage papers written by researchers for the benefit of people who put ideas into practice in the field, and those written by practitioners to inform the need for further research.
