The Gadget Show Live 2011

We’re at the Gadget Show Live!

The Gadget Show Live returns to the NEC in Birmingham this week, showcasing all the latest gadgets from across the world…and Practical Action is there – showing people how we use ‘gadgets’ to transform the lives of poor people across the world.

We’ll be giving away an iPhone (kindly donated by Orange) in a free prize draw and revealing a brand new, pioneering Orange mobile volunteering app, which is set to transform UK volunteering. The first of its kind, this app enables people to volunteer their spare time and do some good on the go with their smart phone… so come and give it a go!

But more importantly, we’re calling on the tech geeks visiting the show to unite to help end poverty through the innovative use of technology. How? By joining the Practical Action Geek Club – a monthly online meet-up where we talk about gadgets and technology.

Gadget Show presenter Ortis Deley, who is a Practical Action supporter, is calling on his fellow tech geeks to get involved: "Come and join the Practical Action Geek Club and find out more about how they use technology to transform the lives of poor people across the world."
