No Tech Day

Practical Action is asking you to give up your gadgets (just for one day)

No Tech Day - 27 March 2010If you love gadgets this is going to be quite a challenge.

We're asking our supporters to go without gadgets for one day to raise awareness of how much we all rely on and use gadgets in our everyday life, and think what life is like for people in the developing world who do not have the same access to technology that we have.

Are you a tech addict?  Just think what it would be like living without computers, laptops, sat navs, mobile phones, MP3 players, games consoles, iPods, digital cameras and all the wonderful electronic gadgetry that is available in the developed world. Give it a go - spend one day living without all your technology and tell us what it is like?

We want to hear your experiences

You can either email us direct or post it on your own blog, photo diary or video and then send us the link at notechday@practicalaction.org.uk - obviously get someone else to use the technology on the day!

Want to find out more? Visit www.notechday.org and take part in this challenge.

Want to sponsor someone and raise money?

If you are or know of a gadget fiend who is happy to go one day without technology set up a sponsorship page or make a donation

And remember to tell your friends.

You can challenge your friends just by nominating a tech addict, running adverts for No Tech Day or Practical Action on your website or blog, sponsoring the addicts taking part or by simply donating to a fantastic cause.   And promote on your Facebook and other social network sites.

Any questions?

Email them to notechday@practicalaction.org.uk.
