This demonstration project will design and install an information system to provide information to rural producers and local government (municipalities) in two rural provinces in the Cajamarca Department of Peru. The objective is to promote local development improving the access of peasant producers and manufacturers and municipal authorities to useful information for their respective activities. This demonstration project itself has five stages:
- a diagnostic study to determine the kind of information which the system will disseminate;
- the detailed design of the system, including collection and processing of information and design of different services (enquiries, library, etc.);
- installation and commissioning of the information system;
- promotion and operation of the system; and
- monitoring and evaluation.
