Chair's summary
For the first time a member of Practical Action - Dr Vishaka Hidellage, Regional Director of the South Asia Programme - was invited to be part of the drafting committee of the Chair's Summary at the Global Platform 2011 organised by UNISDR.
The Chair’s summary captured and highlighted the consensus points from the discussions that had taken place over the course of the week. Vishaka also was part of the closing panel, and delivered the response to the Chair’s summary on behalf of the civil society. This was seen as recognition of our contribution to the sector over the years.
