Gisele Bündchen

Gisele Bündchen is a Brazilian supermodel and actress, who is highly generous with her time, supporting a number of charities and humanitarian causes.

Gisele passionately supports a variety of environmental issues, including clean water initiatives, environmental sustainability, and preservation of South American rainforests. In September 2009, Gisele was designated Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and in November 2011 she was voted Best Green Celebrity at the International Green Awards. She also received the Harvard Medical School’s Centre for Health and the Global Environment‘s 2011 Environmental Citizen Award. Gisele has passionately supported several environment initiatives including the Yikatu Xingu Project; the Agua Limpia Project, and the “I Manage the World in a Sustainable Way” project. In addition, Gisele has helped to raise money for victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake and in 2011, donated money to the Japanese Red Cross Society after Japan was struck by the most powerful earthquake to hit the nation in recorded history.

Gisele is an international female role model and her visit to Kenya has provided her with deep insight into the reality of energy poverty, enabling her to develop into a champion for energy access for women and girls worldwide.
