We have fantastic news of a 1.2 million Euro grant from thenbsp;European Commission which means we can extend our Food Security project to another 99,000 people who depend on agriculture to survive.
Their quick decision means we can introduce sustainable technologies to people living in Kassala, East Sudan - enabling them to tackle the threat of drought and secure a livelihood for themselves.
Imagine your child or grandchild having to cross a raging river torrent every time they went to school. Well spare a thought for children living in remote villages in Nepal - this video shows the dangers they face on their journey.
Now we've come up with a new design that is making their lives safer.
Each year Nirmala worried whether the monsoon rains would wash away her family's land and crops leaving them destitute.
Through our disaster preparedness work Holliya, the village where she lives, has protection from the floods and the community knows how to act if disaster threatens. We are just starting to extend this work to more villages so that they too have more security for the future.
We are supporting a great new initiative, being launched next month by Remember a Charity consortium, to raise awareness of the value of leaving a lasting gift in your will.
Find out more about Forget Me Knot week which starts on the 14th September. All the campaign asks is that our supporters talk to their family and friends about the subject and then tie a Forget Me Knot on our website.
with best wishes,
