Toilets saving lives

Theresa Kwenda was one of millions of poor Zimbabweans threatened by deadly cholera outbreak.
Working together, Practical Action and UNICEF have installed cheap sustainable Ecosan toilets massively reducing the risk of cholera for her and her community.

Watch this video to see how Theresa's life has changed since these toilets were built in her community of Epworth.

Getting ready for the new school year

Practical Action'sactive Education Unit has developed a new series of resources for teachers and pupils on sustainability issues to prepare for the changes in the new Design & Technology curriculum. From September 2009 these changes place more emphasis on a "more sustainable future".

To help teachers prepare for this we have been running Teacher Training sessions around the country - learn more about our Education work.
