The project is financially supported by the European Union (EU) and managed by the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO). Practical Action amongst other implementing partners is implementing some components of the project in Bulilima District in Matebeleland South Province. Practical Action will be concentrating on  four wards (Natane (ward 3) Bambadzi (10) Huwana (8) and Ndolwani (13).The overall objective of the project is to improve food security of vulnerable rural communities through participatory sustainable forest management and valorization of forest products, diversified livelihoods strategies and enhanced capacity to deal with shocks.


Besides promoting marula collection, processing and marketing in the Action, one of Practical Action’s key roles will be to build the capacity of communities, government officers and partners in participatory market systems development (PMSD) and Community Based Approaches (CBA) such as Training for Transformation (TfT) and Livelihood Centred Disaster Risk Reduction (LCDRR).
