Churches and faith groups
How your church or faith group can help
Practical Action benefits from the generous support of over 2,000 churches and other faith groups.
With commitment and dedication, congregations up and down the country have raised over £58,000 so far this year, helping Practical Action to continue working with some of the world's poorest communities to challenge poverty.
For example, St Anne's Church, Shevington, raised over £1,100 through their Lent collection and through members of the parish taking part in a Walk for Water. And the congregation of St John's Church, Hamilton donated £2,500 following their harvest collection.
In addition to raising vital funds to support our projects, many churches help to raise awareness of Practical Action by making our work the subject of a sermon, displaying information about our projects and remembering the communtiies we work with in their prayers.

"We wanted support organisations that provide clean water where it is most needed… and we wanted others to benefit from something that we take for granted."
- Reverend Philip Dennison, St Anne's, Shevington
"It was great to get children interested and involved, as well as adults. Fundraising involves everyone in the church which is a good thing and we think it makes a difference."
- Dennis Hart, Treasurer of St John's, Hamilton
