Getting ready for the floods
In 2006/7 Practical Action Nepal, with the support of the EC through its third DIPECHO action plan for South Asia, carried out a disaster mitigation programme in Chitwan and Nawalparasi districts, aimed at limiting the impacts of floods.
This film shows the main activities and achievements of Practical Action's work in early warning systems in Nepal, and it is hoped that it will offer ideas and motivation to others involved in the field of disaster risk reduction.

Early warning saving lives
This film covers various stages in the setting up of Early Warning Systems (EWS) carried out by Practical Action in Nepal between 2002 and 2008. It is intended as a briefing and training resource and is available for transmission in any forum without the prior approval of Practical Action or the European Commission, though credit should be given.
