Nicholas is an Economist specialist with substantial experience in the fields of applied international trade, value chain analysis of a wide range of commodities, productivity analysis, feasibility studies, development project management, appraisal, monitoring and evaluation. He is the Consultancy Manager for PAC SnA where he is playing a pivotal role in developing consultancy business in the SADC region. He has worked as an economist in Government and trade commission where he was involved in industrial performance and trade analysis with regard to COMESA and SADC trade protocols. He has managed and coordinated huge projects funded by Common Fund for Commodities (CFC), World Bank and International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD). He has consulted for FAO, SADC and COMESA on trade issues and commodity value chain development. He spent the first six months of 2008 consulting for FAO at its head office in Rome.
 

Grace MusarurwaGrace Musarurwa

Grace has a Masters Degree in International Relations from the University of Zimbabwe. She joined PAC SnA in 2005 after having 10 years of working experience gained in both the government and the NGO sectors. She is the Business Development Officer for PAC SnA where she is playing an active role in developing the Unit’s business in the SADC region. She has experience in managing and coordinating development projects for both local and international organisations which includes Common Fund for Commodities (CFC), International Organisation on Migration (IOM), World Bank, Volens Africa, UNIFEM, American Friends and Zimbabwe Development Communities Programme (ZDCP). She has acquired an understanding of developing and nurturing relationships with international and national organizations as well as associate consultants.

Douglas is a renowned Facilitator and Manager of Community Driven development processes and food security initiatives across East and Southern Africa particularly Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mozambique, Zambia, Kenya and Ethiopia. He has over fifteen years of experience providing coordination and management support on Rural Development, Food Security, Drought mitigation, Community Based Natural Resource Management and identifying options for improving food production and diversifying income earning opportunities for communities living in fragile areas in East and Southern Africa. He has been taking a leading role in engaging policy makers into a deliberative dialogue with the poor, building linkages and production of knowledge products that creates debate and enhance empowerment of vulnerable groups and increase their social protection. He has produced policy briefs, organised breakfast meetings and national and regional knowledge sharing workshops to discuss policy issues on technology, community based approaches, Extension methodologies and sustainable agriculture. He has led several end of project evaluations and external monitoring missions for agricultural recovery, water and sanitation and development projects. Douglas has over the past three years provided technical support and training to field staff of NGOs participating in the DFID Protracted Relief Programme, EC and EDF funded initiatives in Food and Livelihood security, Community Based Approaches and decentralized OVC support initiatives. All these skills have developed his analytical approach to development, with strong team leadership, technical competencies and management skills in initiatives such as Community Based Natural Resource Management, Watershed Management, Sustainable Agriculture, Rainwater harvesting and food security projects.

Clara has over 8 years experience working in the NGO sector as an Administrative Assistant. She joined Practical Action in 1999 after 4 years experience in the private sector as Personal Assistant. She is currently Programme Administrator for Aim II and PAC SnA, responsible for all administrative work including compiling reports for the two programmes. Clara is currently studying towards a Bachelor of Arts in Human and Social Studies with specialisation in Public Administration and Communication Facilitation (UNISA).
