Practical Action Consulting: Southern Africa
Practical Action Consulting Southern Africa (PAC SnA) based in Harare, Zimbabwe offers high quality and responsive development consultancy services. Our work builds on the experiences and competencies of Practical Action Southern Africa and the wider Practical Action group.
We offer tailor made solutions to address development challenges for southern Africa which include high levels of poverty and livelihood insecurity. We are leaders in sourcing and providing information and issuing guidance in delivering technological strategies for effective community and national development.
Our ambition is to be a catalyst for leading on impact and scalability of Practical Action’s work in the region by spreading our approaches, lessons and experiences across the region to influence policy and practice.
PAC SnA has successfully implemented projects in and beyond the Southern Africa region. These include Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mozambique, Zambia, Tanzania, Botswana, Rwanda, Tunisia, Malawi, and Lesotho.
Food & Agriculture
Our goal is to enhance the sustainable delivery of technological, innovative and strategic consultancy services in the region towards achieving the wider goal of reducing poverty through technology access and justice for the poor.
Our key thematic focus covers sustainable agriculture and food security; climate change adaptation for small holder farmers and enhancing market access for rural livelihoods.
Clement Kalonga, Regional Consultancy Manager
Clement Kalonga is the Regional Consultancy Manager responsible for the strategic leadership of the consultancy work across the region. He has a compact and diverse background of environmental sciences, climate change and humanitarian programming. Clement is a programme development specialist with cumulative experiences across environmental policy and advocacy, Community Food Security and Disaster Disk Reduction initiatives, Sustainable Livelihoods and Climate Change Adaptation, Global Climate Change programme development and International Climate Negotiations. His experiences cover Southern Africa, East Africa, Central Asia and South Asia
Grace Musarurwa, Programme Coordinator
Grace is the Programme Coordinator for Practical Action Consulting Southern Africa (PAC SnA). She is a social scientist with long experience in managing developmental projects in the Southern Africa Region focusing on climate change, renewable energy, agriculture, and agricultural marketing for the poor. . She is an expert in community based approaches and is experienced in training development staff and communities in participatory approaches. Grace holds an MSc Degree in International Relations and a BSc Degree in Politics and Administration both obtained from the University of Zimbabwe.
