Stop Climate Injustice

Practical Action staff join the crowds in Trafalgar Square for Stop Climate Chaos

Saturday 4th November 2006, Trafalgar Square

On the eve of critical international climate change talks the biggest ever event to Stop Climate Chaos was held in Trafalgar Square.

A team of Practical Action staff and supporters joined the I Count rally organised by the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition in Trafalgar Square. We were proud to be amongst 25,000 others calling for immediate action from the government on climate change.

Practical Action's placards and fortune cookies drew attention to Climate Injustice and Practical Action Kenya's Sharon Looremeta awoke the crowds to the reality of climate change now in the developing world. Writer and broadcaster Adam Hart-Davis, who has visited Practical Action's projects in Kenya, explained how poor communities are the most vulnerable to climate change. It was an exciting event that we hope sent a strong demand for action ahead of the Nairobi talks.

The event was organised by the Stop Climate Chaos coalition, which includes Practical Action, Greenpeace, RSPB, Oxfam and many others.
