Enhancing productivity of utilisation of bio-energy in Sri Lanka

This project demonstrates a community managed bio-fuel plantation and is field testing extraction processes.

Project activities

• Establishment of plantations of selection of oil producing crops
• Community level oil extraction from caster, neem, jatropha and rubber seeds using a variety of equipment
• Testing of biofuel as an energy source for the community
