Appropriate Options for Recovery & Reconstruction – learning from South Asia
This discussion will look at how to contextualize regional knowledge to suit to different contexts of Pakistan rebuilding. The region having a long history of facing disasters, there is a pool of successful models, and this is an appropriate time to mainstream these and bring it to a place where it can be practiced in the Pakistan context. This effort is also to bring together success stories from the region itself, given the richness of this knowledge, so that we can use local learning and local capacities; and generate policy discussions. Keeping this history in sight, we can also build useful guidelines. This is the time to bring in South Asian experiences.
